» 1 cup light brown sugar
»1/2 cup shortening
»1 egg
»1 1/2 cups flour
»1/2 teaspoon soda
»1/2 teaspoon salt
»1 teaspoon vanilla
»1 cup black walnuts, chopped
»granulated sugar, for dipping
Cream sugar and shortening until light. Add egg and vanilla;
beat. Add dry ingredients and nuts; mix. Dip fingers in sugar,
then make a small ball (size of a walnut). Dip in sugar, and
press down onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 - 15 minutes
at 375 degrees F.
